About Us

What is TeachShare?

TeachShare was set up in 2008 and was originally developed to provide online product instructions for Resike, a company that provides resources for teachers that support the National Framework for Sustainable Schools, Eco Schools projects and a range of other environmental subjects.

It quickly became apparent that teachers were finding it very difficult to find information to help them deliver the Sustainable Schools 'message' and in some cases were not even aware that the National Framework for Sustainable Schools existed.

In a recent Ofsted survey of 41 primary and secondary schools, their first key finding was:-

'In most of the schools visited during the survey, there was little emphasis on sustainable development and limited awareness of national and local government policies for this area'

Is TeachShare Membership Free?

TeachShare is now and will always be a free resource for teachers and access is made available using a simple registration process.

The site is being continually developed by a dedicated team of I.T. and research professionals and at present is funded by sponsorship from both Resike Ltd and a landscape company Millar Landscapes who specialise in environmental installations in schools and also use TeachShare to provide supporting for their installations. It is no coincidence that all three organisations are lead by Tony Millar who for many years has been a passionate supporter of helping teachers to make their schools more sustainable, whilst delivering a clear and positive message to students which can be carried into the future.

Eventually, TeachShare will become self funded by providing a forum where carefully selected companies can advertise their products and services to teachers. These companies will all be relevant to making our schools more sustainable and as always, TeachShare will be used to provide supporting information.

Over one in thirty schools is accessing this fantastic resource and with the continued help and support of 'Eco' educators all over the country we can continue its rapid and successful development.
