School flies Green Flag for eco work
Long Eaton School has been awarded Green Flag Ambassador status for 2012.

It is the first secondary school in the Midlands to have achieved such an accolade.

Schools are given the award for completing a programme which teaches them how to be environmentally friendly.

Long Eaton School has held a number of workshops and holds an annual environmental fun day, which has attracted more than 350 visitors.

Eco-school co-ordinator Barbara James said: "We would like to thank all our partners for their advice and support which has helped us to achieve this fantastic award."
