Wimbledon school opens eco-garden on former wasteland
A school celebrated the opening of a brand new garden this week which was once a wasteland.

West Wimbledon Primary School officially opened their Growing and Learning Eco-Garden on Tuesday, April 17, having transformed an underused area of the school with the help of Sainsbury£s and Longcross Construction.

Pupils will be able grow their own fruit and vegetables, study £mini beasts£ and learn about different habitats.

Naomi Foss, Communications and Community Links Officer said; "This eco project has created a wonderful woodland space within an urban community. "Children from across the whole school community can use this new area to learn more about sustainable development as well as a quiet zone for teachers to incorporate into their curriculum based teaching and learning.
