Eco award joy for bright school kids
The sun is shining, the daffodils are out, Wales are Grand Slam winners and youngsters at Catwg Primary School have earned the Eco-Schools Platinum Award.

The eco-committee representatives are pictured in the school's Welsh garden, where progress has gone hand in hand with work in areas such as energy conservation, healthy eating and global citizenship.

Catwg primary has had eco-school status for 11 years.

The Eco-Schools programme is an international initiative encouraging pupils to get stuck into environmental issues.

Pupils take key roles in decision-making and participation to reduce the environmental impact of their school.

The scheme is managed by Keep Wales Tidy.
