Robot tours Cheshire schools to teach children about recycling
Schoolchildren in Cheshire West will be taking recycling tips from a rapping robot this week

Recycler will be touring primary schools in the area with his funky interactive show that raises awareness of recycling.

Teachers and pupils will learn all about the three Rs reduce, reuse and recycle before being treated to a toe-tapping rap show by their special guest.

During the performance Recycler will show children how they can reduce their waste, recycle locally and put the three Rs into practice at home and school.

Shirley Barre, education officer for Waste Watch, a national initiative that encourages recycling, said: Every household in the UK throws away more than one tonne of waste each year and more than half of this could be recycled.

A visit from Recycler is a great way for young people to learn about how important it is to reduce waste and to recycle as much as possible, at home and at school.

Joining in with Recyclers rap and watching the games, props and role-plays is a great way to remember important messages and take them home.

The Recycler programme is a joint partnership between Waste Watch and Cheshire West and Chester Council.
