30 September 2011 Nurseries win green awards Four Perthshire nurseries have been rewarded for their environmental efforts.
The latest recipients of a green award from Eco Schools Scotland, part of Keep Scotland Beautiful, are Balbeggie Primary, Craigie Primary in Perth, Invergowrie Primary and Morrisons Academy in Crieff. Youngsters at Balbeggie developed an eco board and child-friendly action plan explaining the focus of their efforts.
Craigie Primarys nursery class worked in groups to build a habitat for mini beasts and created eco work presentations.
Invergowrie kids have been studying food sustainability with other schools and nurseries and Morrisons nursery pupils created displays exemplifying the links between curricular work and the Eco Schools programme.
