Scottish school wins Sky Rainforest Rescue challenge
Shawhead Primary School in Dumfries and Galloway has won first prize in the Sky Rainforest Rescue Schools Challenge.

Their project was on reducing their energy use to help reduce their impact on the rainforest and on the environment. The project was carried out by their 10-strong 'Shawhead Carbon Busters' team. Activities included a school assembly, a poster competition, participation in WWF's Earth Hour, plastic bottle recycling and working out pupils' carbon footprints.

As part of their prize, the students presented their project to MSPs at the Scottish Parliament.
