09 December 2008 Eco Award for school in Great Barr Junior eco-warriors from a Great Barr school have picked up a national honour for their work helping to save the environment. Ferndale Primary School in Ferndale Avenue has been awarded the prestigious Eco-Schools Green Flag, which signifies excellence in the field of environmental activity. Youngsters at the school have worked hard on litter picking, recycling and ecological issues including saving electricity and water to gain recognition from ENCAMS (Environmental Campaigns), the team behind the Keep Britain Tidy Campaign.
