Eco-Schools Free Power for Schools - More time for Solar sign ups (15th July)
Following requests from teachers at the Eco-Schools Show and subsequent talks with the investors, Eco-Schools are delighted to announce that the Eco-Schools Solar Programme Free Power for Schools deadline for applications has been extended to 15 July.

This means that all Eco-Schools still have time to register and get the approvals needed before the programme finally closes. Eco-Schools advised that "initial assessments of the applications so far received reveal that around 80 percent of schools will be eligible for solar panels. So there is a really good chance for your school."

Eco-Schools further advise "any school that would like to have solar panels at no cost to the school can register." To find out more visit the Eco-Schools Solar Programme pages.

"Over 800 schools have so far applied and the investors who are supporting the programme are hopeful that most schools that apply will be able to have the panels."

"All schools that receive the panels will get free electricity for use by the school generated by solar panels. They will also get a display system showing staff and pupils the power generated and carbon saved and they will get resources that will link the solar panels to curriculum topics and subjects. This support will enable more schools to progress through our awards to Green Flag and beyond."
