01 December 2008 Electronics Firm Sparks Recycling Revolution A leading household appliance manufacturer is a step closer to the large-scale use of recycled materials to make their products. Indesit, probably best known for their Hotpoint range of kitchen goods, has spent the past few months working with Waste Resources Action Programme (WRAP) and Axion Recycling to develop ways in which waste material can be recycled and used in their products on a large scale. As a result, the firm now uses recycled plastic recovered from waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) produced in the UK as the front plates on two of their premium washing machines - Hotpoint Aquarius and Ultima.
