Eco fashion show seeks models
Aspiring models and clothing donations are being sought by a Reading-based fashion boutique as part of their first big charity catwalk show.

Reworked for Oxfam, based in Harris Arcade in the town centre, is in the midst of organising the glamorous fundraising event, which will be held at Shehnai banqueting suite on Friday, September 16.

All proceeds will go to help fight global poverty.

The creative volunteers who work at the shop use unsellable textiles, accessories and clothing donations to create one-off garments to sell on behalf of the charity.

There will be 45 newly-created outfits at the fashion show, which will be divided into three sections: everyday wear, quirky/occasion wear and vintage/retro styles.

Deputy manager and fashion graduate Lyndsey Clark said: We will be showcasing an innovative collection of eco-aware fashions designed by our team. All items have been transformed many came to us as bedding, curtains and table cloths.

Each item is completely unique and all have been reworked by dedicated volunteers to raise funds to support Oxfam and help fight poverty and related injustice.

Anyone who feels they may have the confidence and flair to strut their stuff down the catwalk on the night can drop into the shop or give them a call.

Staff are looking for women models in sizes eight to 12 and as well as modelling there is also the scope for volunteers backstage as around 10 dressers will be needed to help the models with clothing changes.

All models will need to be available on September 15 for a dress rehearsal and on the night of the show itself.
