BBC's The Apprentice looks to make cash from trash
This week's episode of The Apprentice on BBC1 takes place on a 'rubbish dump' as candidates look to make money by setting up a waste collection business.

Lord Sugar first tells his two teams about the hidden value in trash, before ordering them to go off and hunt for scrap and turn it into a tidy profit.

Sporting fluorescent jackets, boots and gloves, the teams divide their resources - half in a truck to pick up rubbish, half pulling in business and quoting on some big clearances set up by Lord Sugar.

One of their key challenges is to spot value among the waste, which they must pay to dispose of. It turns out to be physically and mentally exhausting, reducing one project manager to tears.

According to the BBC preview of the episode, candidates come across "tough cockney scrap dealers" and "quick-witted builders" during their endeavours. The video trailer shows three of the candidates from one team heatedly arguing as profits prove hard to find.

As plans fail to deliver, both teams have to undertake some swift rethinks to save the day. The Apprentice will be screened on BBC1 this Wednesday at 9.00pm.
