04 June 2011 Glastonbury and Greenpeace looking for eco-artists Glastonbury, one of the UK's biggest and most prestigious music festivals will this year be home to a recording studio with a difference - a wood and straw structure where established and upcoming eco-artists can record songs and make their environmental opinions known The project, announced on May 17, is the brainchild of environmental organization Greenpeace and was developed in collaboration with producer Joe Leech from Cowshed Studio in London.
The environmental group hopes that the rustic studio will encourage "everyone who opposes environmental destruction, exploitation, corruption, manipulation and fraud" to express their feelings and take part.
Anybody, regardless of whether or not they are a professional musician, can record in the Greenpeace Studio which will be located in Glastonbury's famous Green Fields. According to a spokesperson these recordings will then be used at a later date as part of "an exciting project."
