Sean Bean backs Woodland Trust card recycling
Hollywood star Sean Bean will be the last face of the Woodland Trust's Christmas card recycling scheme.

Last year donations from businesses and individuals helped the trust plant 12,000 native trees in the UK.

This year the charity aims to plant the 200,000th tree of the scheme, which is now in its 14th and final year.

The star of the legendary Sharpe series and countless films is urging people to recycle their cards in special bins at TK Maxx, Marks and Spencer and HomeSense stores this January and then log onto the scheme's website, to choose where in their area they would like trees funded by the scheme to be planted.

Mr Bean said: "I would like to urge residents to be at the sharp end and help the Woodland Trust do battle against Christmas waste this year by recycling all of your Christmas cards with participating retailers in January.

"Your support will help fund the planting of thousands of native trees across the UK, something I have personally been involved in and supported as a member of the Trust.

"This is the final year of the scheme so please do your bit to help it go out with a bang!"

Once you've recycled your card click here to decide where the trees should be planted.
