A Revolution in Recycling
MANCHESTER is set for a waste revolution that could make it Britain’s greenest city. Under plans expected to receive approval next week, EVERYTHING that can be recycled will be.

Kerbside collections for paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, cans, food, and even clothes and shoes will become commonplace.

All household waste will be picked up by binmen on the same day - so people will no longer need to put different bins out on different days.

There could even be financial incentives for parents who use real nappies that can be washed and used again rather than eco-unfriendly disposables.

The proposals, which will go to the city council’s executive on September 10, have emerged after a massive public consultation process which got thousands of responses.
