08 November 2010 Sustainable schools award achieved by Milford Haven pupils Milford Haven Junior School have celebrated achieving the bronze Pembrokeshire Sustainable Schools Award. The pupils have been taking steps to introduce a recycling scheme in school, encouraging healthy living and looking after their gardens.
They are just about to plant bulbs as part of the Spring Bulbs for Schools scheme in partnership with the National Museum of Wales, which every year records when the bulbs come into flower, building up a picture across Wales.
"With over sixty children in the Eco club the whole school has really come on board by thinking globally and acting locally", said Andrew Deacon, the co-ordinator. For the full news article and to be taken to the website, click here |
