11 August 2008 Clearer guidance needed for UK recycling Consumers confused over which materials - including plastics - can be recycled. A lack of storage space and not knowing which materials can be recycled are among the barriers that are preventing some people from recycling. These findings were uncovered through research carried out by the Waste and Resources Action (Wrap) programme. A survey of over 1,500 householders found that while 94% currently recycle, "significant barriers" were stopping them recycling as much as they would like.
