14 April 2010 Guests power hotel through exercise bikes A hotel is turning guests peddle power into electricity by wiring its exercise bikes to the grid. The Crowne Plaza Copenhagen Towers is claiming a 'world first' through the guest-powered electricity initiative. Guests at the 366-room hotel will also be able to get free meals by producing 10 watt hours of electricity or more. Electric bikes will be installed at the hotel next week (19 April) and will run for a year initially and be rolled out across the UK if successful.
